Club Tan Introduces the Sun Angel Tanning Bed!

Unlike the sun’s rays, the SUN ANGEL emits a custom UV spectrum.
Intelligently blending UV-A and UV-B makes better use of the UV rays to give you that perfect tan, while virtually eliminating the possibility of overexposure.

Three factors play a crucial role in the tanning performance that the SUN ANGEL offers with its variable UV spectrum. Existing skin pigment tans more rapidly and the tanning effect happens sooner than it does on conventional sunbeds. In addition, the SUN ANGEL generates new pigment more rapidly. The twenty-minute tanning session is optimized for maximum pigmentation.

The skin’s own light resistance increases with each session and the UV dosage can be gradually increased for an attractive, long-lasting tan. Apart from a sumptuous tan, the SUN ANGEL activates vitamin D3 synthesis, which the human body also produces when exposed to natural sunlight.

The integrated SUN ANGEL sensor determines your skin's sensitivity to UV light by using measurements from your face and body. The SUN ANGEL uses these results to calculate a specific and personal tanning session that emits the correct dose of UV light necessary for a great tan while virtually eliminating the possibility of a sunburn.

STEP 1 . . .
Take the first measurement on your forehead to calculate the UV power required. Press the SUN ANGEL sensor against your skin until you hear a signal. A short ‘beep’ will follow a successful measurement. If the measurement is unsuccessful, a long tone will sound together with a message. You will then need to repeat the measurement on another area of your forehead. Do not use on an area with hair or veins, as this will invalidate your measurement.

STEP 2 . . .
Take the second measurement on the lightest part of your body -- such as inside the arm. The area you measure should be one that is included when you are tanning. After that, put the sensor back on its holder.

The SUN ANGEL will then calculate your custom tanning and personalized schedule. Come in to Club Tan today to experience this tanning breakthrough!

  6. Here are some helpful hints for achieving and maintaining your natural suntan.

8 Steps to a Better Tan

    1. LOTS OF WATER
Our bodies hydrate from the inside and outside. DRY SKIN WILL NOT TAN!

EXTRA TIP: Drink 12 oz. of water immediately prior to tanning!

    2. KNOW WHATS IN YOUR MOISTURIZER
Many popular moisturizers contain ingredients such as mineral oil, lanolin and SD alcohols. Not only are these agents drying to the skin, but may cause skin irritations. As skin specialists we recommend the products sold here for your precious skin. The pH is correct with only pure, safe ingredients. Use before and after showering and tanning. Using an anti-aging lotion will keep you younger looking even when tanning.

    3. THROW OUT BAR AND LIQUID SOAP
Your skin has a delicate pH balance between alkaline and acid of 5.5. When you clean your skin with regular soaps you upset the delicate balance of your skin. Skin must work extra hard to get back to normal. Keeping your pH correct will give you a tanning edge. Ask us what we recommend using in your shower that will keep your skin looking and feeling younger.

    4. CAFFEINE, THE BIG NO!
CAFFEINE - Very dehydrating. Anything that dehydrates your body is a tanning enemy. Try to cut down or drink extra WATER to make up for it.

    5. ALCOHOL- A BIGGER NO!
ALCOHOL - Another big dehydrator. When you've partied the night before, wake up and start re-hydrating with WATER – and lots of it. Your body and your tan will love you for it.

    6. BETA CAROTENE
Food rich in beta carotene are not only great cancer inhibitors but great tanning helpers, too. Make carrots & dark greens a part of your daily diet for nutrition and a fabulous tan. Vitamins and minerals will also help.

    7. EXFOLIATE!
Regular exfoliation of your skin will give you a healthy look, which will both accept and keep a tan much longer. Our skin replaces itself approximately once every month. Not exfoliating the dead surface skin not only makes us look gray and unhealthy, but also blocks the UV light and keeps us from getting a great tan.

    8. USE AN INDOOR TANNING LOTION
Depending on your skin type using the proper INDOOR tanning lotion can give you up to 75% better results than tanning with no lotion. Not only does it give your skin a final moisture drink just prior to tanning, but loads into your skin minerals and vitamins that your skin needs to be able to tan.

I know these 8 simple steps will help you keep your healthy looking glow!

  7. I can get rid of the bar soap...but not my morning coffee! I drink plenty of water already so I guess I make up for it..

    ReplyDelete
  8. In my experience any type of hydrating "creamy" type body wash works well. You will know within a few hours if the soap you are using is drying for your skin type. Good luck!

  9. Ok...I went in last night and purchased the Angel package. You girls are right. That is the most amazing tanning bed I have ever been in. I can't believe the comfort! I was scared at first when they told me that every session is 20 minutes (didn't want to burn), but all was good. No burning and incredible color...

    ReplyDelete
  10. Haha told you it was awesome! I'm heading in tonight again, building that base tan up for the weekend;)

  13. I have seen the Sun Angel when I have been in using the Believe Bed...that is one bed I would love to try. Cameron, 20 minutes?! I can get a great 20 minute relaxing session. That is one thing I have always missed about the older tanning beds, relaxing for 20 minutes.

  14. **Attention Sun Angel worshipers** Club Tan has announced another Sun Angel Bed delivery. The newest Angel will be making her new home at our Hillsboro Market Center location, in Hillsboro Oregon.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I have heard about the Sun Angel from a friend that tans at the Beaverton location. I have been meaning to come and check it out. I live close to your Hillsboro market center location so I'll try to be the first to use it...lol. Is it true that every session is 20 minutes?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yes Tammy...every session is 20 minutes. It sets itself from the skin sensor reading it takes just before you tan. I have now been in it about 5 times and never burned even in the begining. Now I will be going probably every week and a half to maintain my color...it really is as good as everyone says...I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Tammy..you and I will be the first ones..lol. I have been using the believe bed at the Hillsboro location, and thats one things I love is a 20 minute napping session. But now obviously I can use the sun angel, not burn and sleep ;) Anyone here who has used it..can you tell me more about it?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm glad to see everyone chatting about the new arrival of our sweet angel. Here are a few other points that may interest you Jessica.

  19. Great! Hey I was in the Hillsboro market center location and saw the new Sun Angel displays up...I guess the arrival date is getting close?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes everyone, forgot to mention that the Sun Angel arrival date is set for June 16th. You should expect a couple days for install, then it will be ready. I'll keep everyone updated!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wow, there are allot of people on here..I just came from the Market Center store and they were talking about the Sun Angel. I had never seen or heard about it before. They said it's been playing on their TV in the lobby, but I always head straight to my bed. Saw the displays up in there...so it looks like a week or so..thats cool!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hey Casey, ya there are a few on here. Can't believe you haven't seen the commercial playing...everyone commented on the music, good and bad! You will like the bed..it really is like nothing else we have, or anyone has for that matter.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I had my first experience with the Angel bed over the weekend. I didn't realize that it talks to you throughout your session...kinda cool..great color for my first session too. I didn't think I would get much since it will not let you burn and I usually need to get a little red before I tan..

    ReplyDelete
  24. Glad you enjoyed the Sun Angel. Yes it will talk to you and let you know what it is doing, increasing the facial lamps, decreasing body lamps and so on. It wants to keep you informed so you don't think something is wrong when lamps shut off. Now that you know that, you can shut the voice command prompt off if you like..

    ReplyDelete
  25. Using the Sun Angel, how long should I wait between visits? I'm also using the believe LED bed, how long between sessions on that one? I also have to add that I love the people you have working in the stores. They are always so customer service oriented..so nice to have that type of service after a long day.

    ReplyDelete
  26. When building a base tan at least 3 to 4 times per week. If you spread it out too far you will never keep building. As far as the believe bed, there is no over exposure, so as often as you like. I recommend twice a week.

    ReplyDelete
  27. And Ashley, thank you fo the kind words about the Club Tan / Forever Young employees, we think they are pretty special too ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anyone tried the new Sun Angel yet? It's the 17th! I saw it today when I was in the other Hillsboro store. Looks impressive!

    ReplyDelete
  29. The Sun Angel is currently being installed...just a day or so late :( Hang in there...anytime now!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Casey - Thank you for the pre-purchase of the Sun Angel package before she even got installed..now that's confidence!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Just a quick update for everyone waiting for the Sun Angel. The bed should be up and running in the afternoon tomorrow, June 19th. One small malfunctioning part is delaying us..

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks for the update...we were planning on coming in Friday night anyway. Hope there isn't a long wait for it..

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tammy...you are patiently waiting...just a little longer. You can always stop by and look at it...or pre-purchase a package like others have..:)

    ReplyDelete
  34. For those of you following this blog, here is a quick update on the installation of the new Sun Angel. It appears that it will not be up and operating today. Minor computer issue, yes these beds now have computers onboard! We have one of Ergoline's finest coming in the morning to fix the glitch...thank you for waitng patiently.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ya..I heard, I was in the store just a little bit ago and heard alllll about it. I have the weekend off so I'm sure I'll swing by sometime. I'm looking into some other services there too..

    ReplyDelete
  36. I heard the employees talking about that this morning when I was in for my Velashape appointment. The Sun Angel at the Hillsboro store sure is busy..they had 2 people in line for it...I guess I'm missing out on something here!

    ReplyDelete
  37. And I'm still waiting...haha. I did go in this weekend and sign up for some other services though. I was in a hurry so I guess it's fine...again..

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes everyone...there has been a delay in getting the Angel up and running. I promise to keep you all up to date. So Tammy, what services did you purchase this weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  39. How many sessions will it take in the Sun Angel to achieve a good base tan. I am leaving for vacation in about 3 weeks and want to make sure I have enough time.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Everyone is different. 3 weeks should be enough time, but don't wait any longer. If you tan easily 3 to 4 times a week for 3 weeks you will be incredibly dark..maybe less. The Sun Angel will be a great option for you..

    ReplyDelete
  41. Alright..the moment most everyone has been waiting for is close. They are there now working on the bed and they say it will be up and running within the hour. Problem has been fixed. So everyone that has pre-purchased packages for the Sun Angel, it will be all yours to use!

    ReplyDelete
  42. So how is the Sun Angel treating everyone? I heard some of you have already used it between yesterday afternoon and this morning...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yes, Heading in tonight! Thanks for the update.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm stopping by later this evening as well. Tammy, what time are you heading in? Maybe we can meet.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am heading in about 7:30, would love to meet up, see you then if it works out for you.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I stopped in today and started tanning for my vacation. What a killer experience that bed is, it talks to you! I love the music selection that it has and the fact that I can use my Ipod if I want.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I ended up using the bed at the other Hillsboro store. I purchased the Angel package from Liz before the bed was up and running, but then I had to leave town and couldn't wait. Everyone who hasn't used it yet will love the air conditioning and sound system!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Tammy, it was great meeting you last night! What a fun place to have the girls get together. Maybe over the weekend we can do it again then grad something to eat afterwards?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Leslie I would love too. A few girlfriends were going to do just that Saturday afternoon about 3:00. So if you want to meet up there at the salon then that would be great!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Alright....I finally joined part of the elite group, so now I am cool too. LOL I enjoyed the new angel bed...it really is everything that everyone has said it was. Love the music!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Now that we have our blog about our UV-Free Versa Spa, I want to throw a reminder out to everyone who uses both UV and UV-Free tanning. The Sun Angel will not like it if you are using the UV-Free tanning in conjunction with UV tanning. What happens on the Sun Angel is that the sensor reading is "fooled" into thinking you actually have a deeper darker natural tan than you actually do. This will give you a much higher dose of UV resulting in a sun burn rather than building up your base tan. Having make-up on can give you a similar result. We recommend you remove all your make-up just before taking your custom skin sensor reading when using the Sun Angel.

    ReplyDelete
  52. How much fun was that Tammy...meeting up for tanning and then all of us ending up out on the town! It was such a nice weekend to be out too. Thanks again for boating on Sunday...gorgeous boat you guys have.

    ReplyDelete
  53. To everyone who has purchased Sun Angel packages, thank you! You have helped make this new bed a big hit at the Market Center location. Just as we thought it has taken off and been very popular just like our 185th location and Beaverton location! Thanks for your support. We will continue to bring you the latest and greatest in UV and UV-Free tanning.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Used the Sun Angel for the first time yesterday, what an amazing bed. Talks to you..tells you what it's doing, the air conditioning in awesome. The only thing that was a little complicated was the sensor reading..I had to do it 3 times before it let me tan..

    ReplyDelete
  55. The sensor can be a little tricky sometimes, but you quickly get it. Just picture it like a bit push button, you have to hold it snug to your skin until it give you the ok beep.
